Gavin Henderson

Gavin has 35 years of experience in all aspects of the ground investigation industry over a wide range of civil engineering projects. These include roads, sewers, housing, multi-storey structures, renewables projects, sewage treatment works, deep excavations, tunnelling in soil and rock, slope stability, machine bases, and the suitability of soils and rocks for reuse.  He has extensive experience of ground movement assessment, including slopes, deep excavations, embankments on soft ground and groundwater installations.  With many renewables sites associated with peaty and soft ground, Gavin has developed in-house peat slide risk assessment, data collection, management and analysis software. Experienced in setting up, auditing and working with quality management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 and 17025) and UKAS accreditation. Throughout his career he has been involved in ground investigation for many notable developments including the Scottish Parliament Building, Ocean Terminal, Faslane Naval Base, Major Trunk Roads (M74, M8 and A9), 2nd Severn Crossing, and the Forth Replacement Crossing.
