Les is a Geologist with over 35 years of experience in all aspects of ground investigation. He holds a BSc in Geology and an MSc in Engineering Geology and holds professional qualifications as a Chartered Geologist and Chartered Scientist. For many years, Les has prepared interpretative reports relating to geotechnical, mineral stability and contaminated land considerations for various civil engineering projects, covering every development from a few houses to a concrete gravity dam and from assessment of aggregate sources to nuclear waste stores, plus everything between.
As well as his wide-ranging experience in geotechnics, he is an acknowledged expert in the assessment of mining stability issues and the remediation of undermined sites for development. Les also has considerable expertise in contaminated land, the planning, design and execution of such investigations, a consideration of how any contamination may affect human health and the environment, especially the water environment and the design of cost-effective remediation of contaminated sites, using a wide range of techniques, for their successful development. Les is also IMS Lead and so controls the quality, environmental and health and safety systems for the company.
